EPF deposits to fetch lower interest this year

Employees provident fund (EPF) will fetch lower interest in the financial year 2019-20 (FY20) as rates have been lowered by 15 basis points (bps) to 8.5 per cent from 8.65 per cent earlier in FY19. The Central Board of Trustees (CBT) — top decision-making body of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) - decided to cut the rates on EPF deposits.
