'First satyagrahi' against Emergency: When Jaitley recalled his time in jail

On June 26, 1975, the morning after the Emergency was proclaimed, Arun Jaitley gathered a group of people and burnt an effigy of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, making him, in his own words, the "first satyagrahi" against the Emergency. He was later arrested under preventive detention and was in custody for a period of 19 months from 1975 to 1977.
