Shah to meet NDA leaders, host dinner on May 21

Top leaders of the BJP-led NDA will meet over dinner on Tuesday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah expected to be present, party sources said on Monday. The BJP's decision to host the dinner comes following the exit polls which have been unanimous in projecting another term for Modi.

TRS clear winner in T'gana, a mixed bag in AP

Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) emerged as a clear winner in exit polls released on Sunday. In Andhra Pradesh, however, it was a mixed bag with some surveys predicting YSRCP will get the majority of the (25) seats, while others said TDP has the edge. In the case of Telangana, Times Now-VMR survey indicated TRS would get 13 seats and one each for Congress, BJP and two for Others.

Investors richer by Rs 5.33 lakh crore as exit polls predict NDA victory

Investor wealth soared by more than Rs 5.33 lakh crore as the benchmark BSE Sensex sprinted more than 1,422 points Monday after exit polls predicted a return of the NDA government led by the BJP. At the end of Monday's trading session, the market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies stood at Rs 1,51,86,312.05 crore against Rs 1,46,58,709.68 crore on Friday.

Sensex surges 1,422 pts, Nifty closes above 11k

Equity indices ended on a record high on Monday as investors cheered exit poll results that showed a likely win for the ruling NDA in the general elections. The benchmark BSE sensex skyrocketed 1,421.90 points or 3.75 per cent to close at 39,352.67, while the broader NSE Nifty moved 421.10 points or 3.69 per cent to settle at 11,828.25 .

'Delhi LS poll result may get delayed by 5-6 hrs'

Declaration of results for the Delhi Lok Sabha seats may get delayed by around 5 to 6 hours on May 23 as more time will be spent on counting VVPATs from each of the 70 Assembly segments of the national capital, chief electoral officer Ranbir Singh has said.

Buoyed by the exit poll predictions, BJP President Amit Shah has convened a meeting of the leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on May 21, ahead of the counting of votes on May 23. Sources in the BJP said that Shah is likely to host a dinner for the NDA leaders and would chalk out alliance's strategy.
