India to seek ties with US despite GSP withdrawal

The government said on Saturday it will continue to seek to build strong economic ties with the United States despite a decision by US President Donald Trump to end preferential trade treatment for India from June 5.

Cong reviewing defeat of Rahul Gandhi in Amethi

The Congress is reviewing the defeat of its president Rahul Gandhi in the party stronghold Amethi in the Lok Sabha elections, a party leader said on Tuesday. Congress leader Dharmendra Shukla had written a letter to Gandhi saying his representative Chandrakant Dubey was responsible for the defeat and demanded a probe into it, a party leader said.

Amit Shah takes charge as Union Home Minister

BJP President Amit Shah on Saturday took charge as the Union Home Minister. Shah was received at the North Block office of the home ministry. The HM is also holding a meeting with the officials to familiarise with the issues concerning the ministry, an official said. Two newly appointed Ministers of state for home - G K Reddy and Nityananda Rai - also took charge Saturday.
