Asked If He Was Faced With The Question Of Nepotism, Aditya Roy Kapur Said...

Bollywood actor Aditya Roy Kapur has been hogging all the limelight ever since his portrayal of Shaan Sengupta in the blockbuster web series The Night Manager. Now, in an interview with Filmfare, the actor has opened up about his initial days in the industry and on being faced with the question of nepotism. Talking to Filmfare, Aditya Roy Kapur said that he started in the industry by doing supporting roles hence nepotism didn't play a part in his journey as an actor.

He said, "I think people know that I have kind of made my way into the industry. I started with supporting roles in films my brothers weren't involved with. My journey has been a public one. People saw my career develop slowly. By the time I did my first leading role, I had already done three supporting parts. So I think that journey is clear for people to see."

On being asked about his auditioning experiences, Aditya Roy Kapur emphasised that rejection is a part of the auditioning process however, he noted that the process in itself was never scarring for him.

Talking to Filmfare, Aditya Roy Kapur said, "If you want to be an actor, I think rejection is part of the process. You better get used to it. The early days of auditioning were pretty much a lot of no. I used to audition for a lot of stuff but it's not like I knew for sure that I wanted to be an actor. I was an RJ and I was happy.  I was never really into films. For me, it happened by chance. I used to go to certain auditions because people used to call me now and then. And I would audition because you never know what opportunities would come. But I don't think those early years scarred me a lot."

Besides work, Aditya Roy Kapur is also trending big time with regard to his rumoured relationship with actress Ananya Panday. It so happened that, Ananya Panday watched Greta Gerwig's Barbie over the weekend and she was accompanied by the usual suspect - rumoured boyfriend Aditya Roy Kapur.

An Instagram user shared a video in which she can be seen clicking selfies with Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur from a movie hall that was screening the film. "Major fan girl moment during the Barbie movie with Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur," the fan captioned the post.

As per Rani, newcomers especially the directors are always hungry to disrupt because they want to make the most significant mark on the industry with their first few films.

"I have always been excited by new directors because I have believed that they are always hungrier to disrupt and I love disruption. She also recalled working with Karan Johar in his first directorial Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

"My collaboration with first-time directors started since the beginning of my career with Karan Johar on Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (KKHH) who gave the youth of the country relevancy at that time. Karan Johar is bringing back that type of cinema that we grew up watching on the big screen. It has been such a big part of our lives," the 38-year-old actor told reporters here.

To a whole generation, Karan's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... are nothing short of "cult classics", Ranveer said.

"These movies form an integral part of our growing up years. So this film has all those qualities of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... -- the family, songs, happiness, joy.

"I believe this is a film that will make people really happy. They would have a smile on their face and a feeling of warmth in their hearts," he added.

The actor was speaking at a press conference where he along with Alia unveiled the much-anticipated movie's new song Ve Kamleya.

The film's trailer, which was unveiled earlier this month, teased the story of a couple, who comes from contrasting backgrounds and cultures. The movie also features veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.

Alia, 30, said Rocky Aur Rani... is a movie that celebrates the diverse culture of India.

"It is a very different film and space. I think the beauty of our country is that we are so rich in culture. You always get that feeling when you represent opposing cultures, like north India and Bengal here.

"That combination is fun to see because it is very rich in culture, colourful and there are so many dynamics that come into play," she said.

The atmosphere on the film's set was light and funny, said Alia, who made her acting debut with Karan's 2012 directorial Student of the Year and later worked in his production ventures, including Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Kapoor & Sons and Raazi.

"Ranveer, Karan and I, we are very instinctive. We like to go with the flow and we like to be surprised. We don't like to over-rehearse. We like to be in the moment and focus on that.

"Of course, the blueprint of the script that we have in our minds doesn't move. (But) we used to have a lot of fun and not take ourselves too seriously. We would work really hard and give our 100 per cent every day. But the energy on the set was never serious, even when we shot serious scenes," she said.

Ranveer said the family drama has a heavy dose of humour.

"In Karan's own words, this is probably the most humorous film. There is a generous amount of humour throughout the film and because of that, the vibe and energy on set (was great).

"Karan himself is a born entertainer, always cracking jokes. So it was zany, fun. I would wake up and look forward to going to the set everyday. It was like a bunch of friends coming together and making a movie. It is important to have that energy on the set, it transferred to the film as well," he said.

The two actors, who previously co-starred in 2019's Gully Boy, also recalled their most cherished moments from the film's making.

For Ranveer, sharing screen space with Dharmendra was a dream come true moment.

"My first scene with Dharamji was a face-to-face conversation. When someone said 'roll camera', that was when it hit me that 'Oh my god, it is Dharmendra'. I had to collect myself very quickly and perform.

"But it was a surreal moment for me, sharing the screen space with such a legend. I grew up watching him and it was like straight out of fantasy," he said.

Alia said she would always observe the veterans's acting process on the set. "With Shabana ji, the special thing I noticed was that she would smile one moment and the next moment, she could cry in a scene as well. She wouldn't require any preparation. Jaya ma'am would refuse to sit in between the shots.

"And Dharamji would remember his scenes well. He would do his homework. Even the rest of the family, the whole ensemble cast was just so fantastic," she said.

Produced by Dharma Productions, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani is scheduled to hit the theatres countrywide on July 28.

Shah Rukh Khan's Note Of Gratitude For Jawan Co-star Vijay Sethupathi Is All Heart: "Love You Nanba"

The prevue of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan is trending big time and for all the right reasons. While fans continue to obsess over the many, many looks of Shah Rukh Khan in the much-awaited prevue, the Pathaan star on Tuesday thanked his Jawan co-stars and crew member for their efforts. Our favourite is however his adorable note for his co-star and Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi. Replying to Vijay Sethupathi's Twitter post about Jawan's prevue, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, "Sir an honour to work with you. Thanks for teaching me a bit of Tamil on the sets & the delicious food u got. Love u Nanba!"

The post is all heart, take a look at it here:

Besides, Vijay, SRK also left a gratitude note for his Jawan director Atlee. He wrote, "Sirrrrrr!!! Maaasssssss!! You are da man!!!! Thank u for everything and for making sure that A K Meer gave his input along with Priya!! Love u all.

Take a look:

In January of this year, Vijay Sethupathi told PTI in an interview that Shah Rukh Khan was a gentleman who never let his stardom come in the way of their collaboration in Atlee's film Jawan.  "I had a good time working onJawan with Atlee and Shah Rukh sir. He (Khan) is a gentleman, he will never show that I am in the industry for so many years and I am a superstar. "Like, how I work with my co-actors, I could discuss (scenes) with him the same way. And then sometimes I would say, 'Sorry sir, if I disturb you', he would say, 'No Vijay, do it'. I was very comfortable with him and he is very sweet," said Vijay.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan dropped the much-awaited prevue of his upcoming film Jawan on Monday. The action-packed clip featured a voiceover by Shah Rukh Khan and began with him in hero mode. The Jawan prevue was mostly Shah Rukh Khan (we're not complaining) with glimpses of his megawatt co-stars – Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and… wait for it… Deepika Padukone, no less, in a special appearance.

The prevue was shared by Shah Rukh Khan on his social media handles with the caption, "Main kaun hoon, kaun nahin, jaanne ke liye (Who am I and who am I not, are you ready to know), READY AH?#JawanPrevue Out Now!#Jawan releasing worldwide on 7th September 2023, in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu."

Jawan will also feature Sanya Malhotra and Priyamani. The film has been produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment and the music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
